Star Wars: Resistance (Disney XD)

Star Wars: Resistance (Disney XD) – Premieres 7th October

Following from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, this is set in the period between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Where after being saved by Poe Dameron, young pilot Kazuda Xiono is recruited into the resistance and given a mission to go undercover to find out the plans the First Order have to attack the resistance.

Poe then takes Kaz to a refuelling platform on Castilon, where he gives him the cover as an aspiring pilot and trainee mechanic. Which Kaz  almost blows from the beginning. From then on Kaz bumbles about trying to spy and ends up having news spread that he’s the best pilot on the platform, leading to him ruining his low profile.

As Star Wars series go, this isn’t the most Star Wars feeling out of the three as it has a lack of anything Jedi going on. That said, like the previous series it’s an easy watch and if you enjoyed them then this is more of the same.

Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures (Disney XD)

Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures – Starts 20th June – Renewed

Set in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, The Freemaker Adventures follows a trio of scrap collectors who stumble upon the lost kyber sabre when the youngest member starts to become in tune with the force.

As fate would have it the Emperor is also after this lightsabre and has sent one of his sith to track it down, and now has passed themselves off as a Jedi to work witht he Freemakers as they fins the remaining parts of the lightsabre.

Unlike Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales, it doesn’t have the same standard of humour and is more kid focused.

Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises (Disney XD)

Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises (Disney XD) – Starts 15th February

Linked in to the Episode 7 film, The Resistance Rises is a 6 minute long short, which lack any of the humour of Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales and manages to squeeze what would be a full plot of an episode of Star Wars Rebels into it’s runtime.

It just comes across as a half arsed rush job to jump on to the popularity of the film. Disappointing.

Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales (Disney XD)

Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales (Disney XD) – Starts 6th July

The third Star Wars animation on Disney X.D goes away from previous instalments Clone Wars and Rebels by adding Lego and parodying the three prequels.

It’s more than a little reminiscent of the Robot Chicken Star Wars episodes, and has some genuine laugh out loud moments.

A surprising good comedy considering it’s on a kids channel.
